One in Ten: Pre-surgery Shopping!
Read about endometriosis and my story in my previous One in Ten posts.
My upcoming surgery is both exciting and terrifying.
On the one hand, pain relief! Diagnosis! Validation!
On the other hand, what if it’s adenomyosis — meaning a pain relief will require a whole different surgery. What if they accidentally hit a nerve and cause more pain and symptoms? What if the new IUD causes horrible cramping or mood problems?
You know what’s not terrifying? Shopping!
Generally, I hate shopping when I need something. Finding jeans that fit is always a nightmare. But I love fun-type shopping… especially for dresses! Flirty sundresses at Kohl’s, Calvin Kleins on sale at Ross, trying on elegant gowns at Macy’s…
My online support group has shared plenty of advice leading up to my surgery. One tip that’s repeated often: waistband-free clothing. Pants and skirts are not your friend after a surgeon’s knives have been all up in your pelvis. I bought a few packs of granny panties, but I also hit the shops — Walmart, Target, and Kohl’s — for comfy dresses on a budget.
And I found a lot of super-cute stuff. So…

Hey! I recognize a couple of those! They look really good on you! All of the dresses look comfortable and like they shouldn’t cause any issues during your recovery time.
Also, you forgot to give credit to your amazing photographer…😉
