Happy summer, readers. As always, my year so far has not gone according to plan. When does it ever?
But I’ve got some great changes on the docket this summer, and tentative plans further on the horizon. So what can you expect coming up?
New retailers
Assassin’s Kiss, Assassin’s Dilemma, and Assassin’s Disgrace are now available for sale at all major ebook retailers! Search for “Emery Rachelle” at Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Google Play books, and all other major retailers. (There may be a slight delay with Assassin’s Disgrace showing up in the Nook store, but it is on its way any moment now.)
You can also ask your library to bring the Assassin’s Heart series to the Libby app!
Paperbacks
As promised in January, I’ve been working on new versions of the Assassin’s Heart series paperbacks. All three books are currently in the proof approval stage, with a planned release date of July 2025.
Crimson Bloom will be undergoing a cover makeover, and the timeline for that is up in the air. I’ll announce paperback plans for that book when I share the new ebook cover.
Assassin’s Journey
Right now, the fourth book in the Assassin’s Heart series is in the editing stage. There’s a cover, there’s a blurb, it’s all coming together. I’m hopeful for an October 2025 release, with ebook and paperback releasing simultaneously.
Future books
Following the release of Assassin’s Journey, my next project will be the fifth book in the Assassin’s Heart series. I want to fully immerse myself in Runa’s world and work toward sharing her final happily-ever-after with you all as soon as possible, with the final book releasing sometime in spring or summer 2026.
I have not forgotten the Vyrkola clan, though! Eden’s story will continue in Scarlet Moon, the first book I’ll be writing as soon as Runa’s tale is told. An optimistic timeline will put Scarlet Moon‘s release sometime in winter 2026 or early 2027.
Other news
Finally, a piece of personal excitement: I’m going to a writers conference! The Midwest Writers Workshop 2025 Summer Conference is just close enough to my part of Indiana that I can be there. I am so excited to meet fellow authors and writers; learn from more established and experienced voices; and gather as much new knowledge, inspiration, and motivation as I can.
